刘一手火锅，北美地区拥有22家门店的知名火锅连锁，最近遭遇了加拿大税务局的重罚，罚款高达25万加元。
这一风波起因于刘一手火锅的加拿大母公司——刘一手国际管理（加拿大）有限公司，聘请了Pinmo Creative Technology Ltd及个人顾问Scott Meng，协助申请科学研究与实验发展税收抵免（SR&ED）。不幸的是，Pinmo与Meng被指在申请中使用不实声明及未授权的文件，导致税务局以“重大过失”为由施加罚款。
此事件导致刘一手火锅不仅面临经济损失，还对咨询公司的专业性和诚信产生了疑问。该公司已向BC省最高法院提起诉讼，寻求赔偿包括罚款在内的特殊和一般损害。
这一案例提醒广大北美餐馆老板在选择合作伙伴时必须审慎，仔细考察对方的专业能力和信誉，以免遭受不必要的损失。
不过也有人对此提出质疑，认为刘一手对此是批准过，或至少是知情的，这不过是事发了互相踢皮球的行为。毕竟作为甲方，请乙方公司来申请税务优惠或者税务规划，不太可能在未经甲方签字授权就自行提交文件。如果是伪造签字，那么事情就更大了，刘一手决不可能仅仅是以上述缘由对乙方起诉这么简单。
